The Difference Between Tired And Exhausted

I had in the call with an amazing teammate today and she asked me if I was okay. My voice wasn't peppy and my energy wasn't radiating. My tone was serious, focused, and direct in that call. I knew she could hear my tired I wasn't very good at hiding it.
I had gotten off my day job an hour earlier and took a 40 minute nap in order to regroup for my evening's to-do list.
I promise you all, my well being is intact. I can assure you that I am well hydrated, well rested, properly fed, and maintained. However, I was tired in that call. Many of my awake hours are committed to basically working two-a-days: one for DR Horton and one for Hearts Unleashed.
I CHOOSE everything that I take on.
I say No to projects constantly.
I am diligent with my time.
My schedule works for me, not the other way around.
This wasn't always the case. I used to experience exhaustion as a result of being a victim to my own commitments and calendar. I used to wear busy as a badge of honor. I would run myself ragged and lay my head on my pillow at night still feeling unfulfilled and under accomplished. I was working to impress others and feel approved of or validated by my achievements and their admiration.
Nowadays, I work for me. I prove myself to myself. I live fully expressed and it keeps me showing up to these two-a-days chasing my dreams and cultivating more greatness in this world! My commitments bring me joy and fuel me.
I have simply 'increased the size of my plate' in order to fit everything that I am passionate about keeping in motion and momentum.
However, I do get tired. Sometimes, the climb challenges you in ways that simply stretch your tolerance for moreness.
Running a minute to minute schedule, knocking off 20 things on a daily to-do list, following up, and following through requires commitment beyond your excuses or feelings.
Yes, I am tired and still my cup runneth over with passion, joy, and abundance!
You can bet I would love daily naps and massages and soon that will be the case.
Until then, I still enjoy the journey of creating that reality.
And every day, I love the life I love.
